I converted my attic into a small photo studio. Besides experimenting with high-speed photos, I experiment with all kinds of other subjects. If you look around the house, you often find objects that, if you let your creative imagination run wild, can serve as a subject. Fruit, pencils, ice cubes; all things that you can try something fun with. Place them on a mirror in front of a milky white plexiglass plate. Put your strobes with a colour gel on it, behind the plexiglass and try to play with the light. A wrinkled piece of aluminium foil will give you some nice bokeh when you reflect the coloured speedlights on it. The results are often very surprising!
